THE NBA'S NEXT JAMES HARDEN

By, Chanson Orme

As this glorious NBA season progresses, we have seen some amazing performances. As expected Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and James Harden continue to dazzle the league with their incredible scoring talents. This season comes with a bit of a surprise because we have seen some break out stars and rookies emerge with scoring feats that leave jaws on the floor.

There are few players that are playing so well, that comparisons are being made. This became very intriguing to us here at Climate Sports, and so we did some research. We came to the conclusion that Victor Oladipo will be the NBA's next James Harden. He has had some incredible games (47 against Denver, 33 on the Cavs, 36 playing the Raptors). This is more than just a hot streak of games, Oladipo is having a breakout season that is proving he is molding into the bearded assassin. 54% of Oladipo's shots are coming from outside of 16 feet, and his shooting percentage is up 4.3% while taking 4.1 more shots per game. Victor has having a career year all around, and truly rivals Harden in true shooting percentage, steals, 3 point percentage, rebounding, and many more statistics. Though he does not match up well against the beard in terms of passing, the Pacers place Oladipo in many P/R and ISO positions to get buckets. He still s the electrifying finisher he was out of Indiana, but his refined 3 point shooting makes him a much larger threat to NBA defenses. The Pacers have recognized this success, and quickly adapted. As a team, they are 2nd in the league in 3 point percentage. The overall demeanor of the Pacers have changed, they saw the news that they were robbed for PG, and became very receptive to Victor coming from "OK3" and taking the reins. Oladipo has quickly filled the shoes of Paul George, and is looking for his first All Star appearance this February.

Going forward, Dipo will continue to be a major part in the offensive system of the Pacers. Do not be surprised if we see Victor in MIP talks and a dark horse candidate for MVP nearing the end of the season. He is taking the right steps, being named Eastern Conference player of the week earlier today. With every game this season, Oladipo is taking shape into the elite SG we see in Houston.
